These, totaling 8, are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8465 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/informations.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"49\" height=\"48\" \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to be informed<\/strong>: a person must be informed in a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">clear and understandable manner<\/span> about the use of their personal data, namely what data are collected, by whom, and for what purpose.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: a sign posted at the entrance of a store featuring at least a pictogram of a camera and the procedures for exercising the rights of the data subjects informs them of the installation of a video surveillance system on the premises<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[For more information, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/en\/apdp\/fact-sheets\/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-law\/information-to-be-provided-to-the-data-subjects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Information to be provided to the data subjects<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8455 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/cle.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"60\" height=\"54\" \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right of access<\/strong>: a person may request confirmation from the data controller as to whether or not their data are being processed, and if so, to have them communicated to them in a readable and comprehensible form.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: an employee can request the contents of his or her HR file<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8421 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/droitrectification.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"46\" height=\"57\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to rectification<\/strong>: a person may request, with supporting documents, that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected or completed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: following his or her marriage, an employee can request the Human Resources Department to change his or her legal name.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8431\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/droiteffacement.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"44\" height=\"56\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to erasure<\/strong>: a person may request, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in very specific cases<\/span> defined by the Law, that his or her data be erased, whether or not they are public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: a person who has subscribed to a newsletter has the right to request that his or her e-mail address be deleted from the mailing list if he or she no longer wishes to receive the newsletter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8429\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/droittraitement.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"51\" height=\"49\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to restriction of processing<\/strong>: a person can request of the data controller that certain personal data must <strong>temporarily<\/strong> no longer be processed except for storage purposes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: a person who disputes the accuracy of his or her data may ask the data controller to \u2018freeze\u2019 their processing for the time necessary to verify the data<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8427\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/droitopposition.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"51\" height=\"51\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to object<\/strong>: a person may object to his\/her data being used by a data controller for a specific purpose, for example when the processing is based on a ground of public interest or the legitimate interest of the data controller. To do so, they must provide \u00ab <em>reasons related to their particular situation<\/em> \u00bb, except in the case of commercial prospecting, to which they may object without providing a reason.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: an Internet user can refuse the installation of tracking &#8220;cookies&#8221; on a site that he or she visits.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8425\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/droitportabilite.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"50\" height=\"48\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to data portability<\/strong>: a person can, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">under certain conditions provided by the Law<\/span>, obtain from a data controller the personal data they have provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. In this way, they will be able to easily reuse these data and, if they wish, have the said data transmitted to another data controller.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: a person can request from the music streaming platform which they subscribe for a list of the songs they have listened to since the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8423\" src=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/droitobjet.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"51\" height=\"59\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Right to not be subject to an automated individual decision<\/strong>: a person may not be subject to a decision that is based <strong>solely<\/strong> on automated processing, <strong>without any human intervention<\/strong>, when the decision produces <strong>legal effects<\/strong> with regard to the data subject or <strong>significantly affects him or her<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: the refusal of a bank loan solely based on an algorithm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[For more information, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/apdp.mc\/en\/apdp\/fact-sheets\/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-law\/the-rights-of-the-data-subjects-with-regard-to-their-personal-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The rights of the data subjects with regard to their personal data<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Law No. 1.565 of December 3, 2024 grants a number of rights to the data subjects.
